Happy New Year!

The celebration of the new year is the oldest of all holidays and was first observed in Babylon about 4000 years ago on the first day of Spring. The Romans continued to observe this celebration but in 46 BC it was finally set on the first day of the Julian Calendar (January 1st) and so completely lost its original connection with Spring and rebirth. Interesting, eh? Happy New Year!
